About the Board of Directors
Have you ever thought about joining The Little Years School Board of Directors? The Little Years School is a non-profit organization that is administered by a volunteer parent Board of Directors and an Executive Director. Often parents have questions surrounding what would be required of them. Here are some frequently asked questions:
What is the Board of Directors?
The Board of Directors is made up of 7 elected members plus the Director. These positions include: the chair, the co-chair, the treasurer, the fundraising coordinator, the public relations coordinator, the secretary and a member at large. These positions are for parents whose children are attending the school however a position may be held by a community member.
What is the role of the Board of Directors?
Overall, the role of the Board of Directors is to manage and oversee the activities of the school. The Board develops and maintains policies, is accountable for the. expenditures and financial affairs of the school and also to you, the parents/caregivers and community that we serve.
What is the time commitment?
The Board meets once a month from September to June for approximately 1-2hrs. All positions require some additional time outside of the meeting to fulfill their duties.
Why should I join?
This is a rewarding opportunity to get involved in your child's school. The success of The Little Years School is dependent upon the participation of its families and one way to support is by joining the Board of Directors!
