Emergent Ideas
What is emergent curriculum? It's not new, but it has been given a new word. What it means is as teachers we adapt our teaching styles and programs to what the children are interested in today. For example: if we have planned an elaborate circle time on shapes and colours, and all the children really want to talk about dinosaurs. When we sit down for circle time, if we stick to our plan, the conversation is going to go nowhere. But if we adapt our plan and talk about dinosaurs, the conversation, play, imaginations are endless That's really what learning is all about. So here's what we have down on paper. Each day will still be new, fresh and exciting.
