Safety Policy
Little Years School Safety Policy
Monday, February 28, 2011
Dear Parents and Guardians:
By April 1, 2011, the Government of Manitoba has required all Daycare and Nursery School Facilities to have in place a locked door policy, which is part of the Safety Code Policy.
We have now complied to the policy by completing our security system which enables us to monitor visitor access to our nursery school facility within Ralph Maybank School.
We were planning to install the system during spring break, however with the demand and deadline fast approaching, we, in partnership with Universal Daycare and Ralph Maybank School agreed that this past weekend would be the best time for us all to have the necessary work done. We apologize for the lack of orientation time to the program as originally planned. We thank you for your patience, understanding, and cooperation in this matter. We have been working on this plan for the past two years on our Board of Directors.
We received a grant from the Government to help us with the cost of the program. We kindly ask parents, guardians, and visitors to our facility to use our doors to enter the building. We remind you that the front doors of the school are for the use of Ralph Maybank School, with an exception if you require the wheelchair accessible ramp, then you may enter through the front doors. Otherwise, we ask our patrons to enter our doors at all times. This will help to identify all visitors to the building.
September 2014
Our security system is in place. We will buzz you in when you arrive.
PLEASE CLEARLY IDENTIFY YOURSELF TO US
When you arrive at Little Years ring our doorbell only. We will then buzz you in. If you do not get a response please check the time. Refrain from using Universal Daycare's doorbell as they will not be able to let you into the building, and this would be an inconvenience to their staff and to the children in their facility. We will monitor the doorbell 5 minutes prior to your class time and up until all children arrive to school. We are able to monitor the doors during class time. At dismissal we will be available until closing. We still require all parents / guardians to be back before we are closed.
